RASO was established to address the needs of the people affected by conflict after the fall of the former Somali’s government. The organization is registered in Southern and Central regions of Somalia.
Technical competence
RASO has a Program Director, full-time Program Officers, and a technical steering committee for project proposal development and implementation. They also focus on capacity building for key community members.
RASO uses a participatory approach, consulting with community representatives for qualitative and quantitative data collection. Progress reports and periodic planning are provided to identify project shortcomings steering committee as well as tasked to develop and advise on organizational strategies and deliver appropriate tools and relevant forward information in any given project implementation.
Furthermore, this may include capacity building of key community respective elders, leaders, women and youth groups and other stakeholders as appropriate and possible.
RASO focuses on participatory approach based on community consultations with key community representatives to put forward in setting up by any project implementation plan to attain qualitative and quantitative data collections Detailed progress reports, periodic planning and identification of shortcomings associated with the implementation of the proposed project activities will be provided based on the agreed time-frame.
Mechanism for Monitoring and Evaluation
RASO’s monitoring activities measure physical performance, budgetary utilization, work quality, and alignment with objectives. Regular stakeholder meetings, project implementation reports, and stakeholder meetings are used to assess progress. Annual evaluations are conducted by the RASO team and external consultants.
The logical framework matrix helps in efficient and systematic monitoring. Measured implementation information is used to reflect on corrective actions. A strong monitoring system is established, with project officers, field officers, and the Program Manager regularly visiting sites to assess effectiveness. Partners are also involved in monitoring exercises
Evaluation
Local staff and volunteers will engage in continuous self-evaluation, reflecting on their progress and strengths in relation to pre-set objectives
Periodic evaluation
Management, including program managers, project officers, and beneficiaries’ representatives, will conduct quarterly evaluations, considering the environmental impacts of each project.
Annual evaluation
Annual evaluation will be carried out by independent evaluation experts to ascertain the viability and cost-effectiveness of our intervention.
Potential for scaling up
RASO plans to expand its activities to meet diverse needs while adhering to its mission and vision.
Sustainability
The target communities will sustain interventions by building local capacities through training and collaboration with committees, empowering them to manage programs after donor funding ends, ensuring long-term sustainability.
Governance and organization management
The Steering Committee, comprising nine members, oversees RASO’s operations and ensures efficient utilization of human and resource resources, meeting quarterly.
